Welcome Back, Kotter...

I've been so out of orbit when it's come to this darn blog.

I'll be posting a lot more stuff, A LOT more regularly in the coming days... y'know, get back into the groove.

In the meantime, here's a book cover I drew a ways back towards the start of 2008.

Fast Times...

Yet another old sketch to pass the days.

Just started a new job and I'm not entirely settled into my new place.

I need to start drawing in earnest again in the coming week.

For now, this will suffice.

Wonder, Wonder Why The Wonder Falls...

This is older work (just before Christmas), but I like my previous post I got a chance to use a large-format scanner, so I figured I'd throw it up here since I haven't had a chance to post new work. I'm in the midst of preparing for a move and graduation, so I'll get back to working on new stuff after the dust settles...

Shh... He's Sleeping...

There're some repeats in this post, but I finally got a chance to use one of the school's large-format flatbed scanners... so I took the opportunity to rescan my stuff so they'd be clearer.

I like some of the stuff presented here... I see a lot of mistakes, though.

Also, went to the SVA Illustration/Cartooning Open Studios tonight.

Some beautiful stuff. Some crap. But mostly beautiful.

She's A Slave...

Did this last night/this morning.

It's a one-off sample that could potentially lead to a job... something having to do with music artist portrait-type things.

Apparently, they want someone with a, "comic book" style... I hope they mean super-hero, and not indie.

I'm skeptical about getting jobs in general... and I'm really not very good at capturing likenesses (this really doesn't even read as Brit-Brit if it weren't for the costume and snake)... I'm not holding my breath.

But I am crossing my fingers.

The Break-Up Kit...

So, I figure, what the hell... I'll take some time to scan and stich another one of these babies together.

Ol' BatBoy slammin' it to the man... or to the rapist rather.

Funny how the script this is drawn from seems to indicate logically that this dude is a mugger, and yet I still feel like it wasn't the old lady's purse he was after... if you know what I mean.

You do know what I mean, don't you?

What I mean is that he was that he saw this old woman, and he was so excite... er, uh... nevermind. You can figure it out.

(As a sidenote, I struggled like a mother to get that boot right... still doesn't work as well as I'd like to, but whatcha gonna do...)
